UPSC NDA 2022 Women Recruitment Update: The National Defense Academy (NDA) is gearing up to train the first batch of girl cadets for the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. The training will be conducted in a gender neutral manner from June 2022.

UPSC NDA 2022 Women Recruitment Update: The National Defense Academy (NDA) has announced that it is gearing up to admit the first batch of girl cadets in June 2022. The first batch consists of 19 girl cadets – 10 for the Indian Army, 6 for the Indian Air Force and 3 for the Indian Navy. There will be a further training period of three years from June 2022 which the Academy plans to conduct in a ‘gender neutral’ manner.

The Academy also stated that “A dedicated support staff will be provided to facilitate the training of girl cadets. Most of the training activities will be conducted jointly keeping in mind their employability, wherein women officers are required to command an army of men. Similar training methodology already exists in other pre-commissioning training academics like OTA Chennai, INA Ezhimala and AFA Hyderabad.,

,For accommodation of girl cadets, a squadron has been identified and is being refurbished with specific facilities and requirements for their training. Action is being taken to augment the existing infrastructure. Necessary modifications will also be made to suit gender specific lifestyle requirements. Whereas, in the long run, a separate squadron is being envisaged exclusively for girl cadetsSaid the Academy.

Supreme Court questions Center on allotting 19 vacancies to women candidates in NDA 2022 recruitment

The affidavit was filed on a petition filed by advocate Kush Kalra in accordance with the Supreme Court’s January 18 direction, seeking data on the number of women who appeared for the NDA-2021 exam and the number of women who appeared. . With regard to the number of candidates who appeared for the examination and how many women were successful, it is submitted that the total 5,75,854 candidates had applied for the exam and 3,57,197 candidates appeared for the exam.,

,A total of 8,009 candidates including 1,002 female candidates qualified in the NDA written examination held during November 2021. Services Selection Board (SSB) is going to be effective from March-April 2022.,” the affidavit said.
